Here's some of the more frequently asked questions that we have answered, if you have have any questions at all that aren't here then just ask by sending us a message.
Is Functional Fitness Good for weight loss ?
Yes, because multi-joint compound exercises burn more energy and elevate heart rates effectively. Fuelled with a contolled food intake to support physical activity, many participants have experienced weight loss as well as better all round fitness and strength gains.
How do I know this is for me ?
Every human beings needs differ by degree and not kind, Increased power, Speed, Strength, Cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy are each important to everyone and at any age.
Do I need any prior experience ?
Absolutely not, Every movement in functional fitness can be scaled or modified for your current fitness level.
Just remember everyone has to start somewhere.
How Often should I train or exercise ?
Beginners 2-3 times per week (Varied workouts) at relative intensity in order to let the body rest and recover.
Intermediate 3-4 times per week relative intensity in order to let the body rest and recover.
Advanced 3 days on 1 day off, rolling. Resting every 4th day.
Can you advise on diet and nutrition ?
Yes, of course! We can start by looking at what your current diet looks like and make small changes so that it's achievable to get to your goals. Instead of going staright in to new diet we can find some easy, quick wins to start with and then build some consistency as we go on.
Can you tailor training towards cardio ?
Yes this can be done, but we will also add in some strength work in order to build muscle to protect joints and keep bones strong and reduce injury, Variety also keeps the body and mind active.
If I need to cancel a session what will happen ?
In order not to lose your session please try and cancel in advance (Ie over 24 hours prior to session), I'm aware that life throws up some challenges from time to time so I'll do my best to move your session to another date/time to accomodate you.
I have a bit of pain in my back, will this be a problem ?
No we will take this in to account, Any heavy lifting will be off the menu until full fitness resumes. Regular functional movement and stretching will help improve core strength and strengthen your back and over time will improve strength and mobility.
